Old School Model Works : R/C Pilot Figures - Cranky Cockpit Club (Animal)

Cranky Cockpit Club - Animal Pilots.

Whether you're needing to find a fearless flyer for your nimble .20-sized model or finishing your majestic quarter-scale masterpiece, OSMW has the perfect pilot bust ready for takeoff.

Welcome to the Cranky Cockpit Club.

We 3D-print these ourselves in-house, and each one is made from flesh-toned, UV-resistant PETG filament, built to handle sun, wind, and wild aerial adventures. We print them in ultra-thin layers to lock in those crisp details, and keep them feather-light thanks to using minimal infill.

Our pilots arrive unpainted and ready to be customized with your choice of enamel or acrylic paints.
We've shown painted examples of each below to give you inspiration—just don’t judge our paint jobs too harshly. Yours will almost certainly look better!
Drag the sliders (left-and-right) to reveal the unpainted pilot, and a sample painted version.

They're available in 6 sizes/scales - from 1/8 to 1/3.
Individual weight is an average of .2 ounces (5.6 grams) for the 1/8 size, up to an average of 4.9 ounces (138.9 grams) for the 1/3rd size.
Prices start at $8.95 each for the smallest (1/8), and you'll see the additional charge next to each larger size.

Bookmark this page so you can come back from time to time, as we will be adding additional pilots to the Cranky Cockpit Club.

Hiss-sterical Howard

Hiss-sterical Howard earned his pilot license after hypnotizing the instructor with a three minute cobra roll routine. He once got booted from an airshow for attempting a comedy set mid-barrel roll, but claims “gravity’s funnier when you challenge it. He features a flying cap and goggles.”

Price range: $8.95 (1/8) to $28.95 (1/3)

Snackshack

He took up flying after realizing land-based snacks were just too slow. He’s the only pilot whose cockpit comes with built-in splash zones, and rumor has it thqt his parachute doubles as a picnic blanket. He features a flying cap and goggles.

Price range: $8.95 (1/8) to $28.95 (1/3)

Catmandu

His past? Unconfirmed. His missions? Always at night. Some say he's just a myth. Once, during a low-altitude flyby, he buzzed a dog park just to establish dominance—then dropped pamphlets reading “Cats Rule. Dogs Drool. Meow Forever.” He features a flying cap, goggles and a scarf.

Price range: $8.95 (1/8) to $28.95 (1/3)

Frostbite Fred

Frostbite Fred was undeniably a klutz. While his peers gracefully navigated the slippery ice, Fred was a master of the face-plant. But when he discovered flying, everything changed. Though his piloting was a chaotic mix of wild loops and near-catastrophic stalls, Fred’s unshakeable determination meant he was flying iwith style. He features a pilot's cap, goggles, flying jacket and tie.

Price range: $8.95 (1/8) to $28.95 (1/3)

Wing-Walking Winnie

Winnie may be best known for his honey hunts, but in the skies above his wooded home, he’s a surprisingly competent aviator with a gentle touch on the stick and a nose for soft landings. His flight plans are whimsical at best—often detouring for picnics, naps, or philosophical musings about clouds—but somehow, he always arrives precisely where he’s needed. He features a flying cap and goggles.

Price range: $8.95 (1/8) to $28.95 (1/3)
