Let's Build Something.
We love building kits.
Great designs of the past shouldn't be forgotten.
There's nothing like building a great kit and loving the way it flies.
With modern laser-cut techniques, kit building is better than ever.
Why settle for a "me-too" ARF when you can have something unique?
That's what Old School Model Works is all about.
Just mentioning that someone should build their own kit will scare off a lot of modelers, but it shouldn't be that way. What if there was a series of kits that took a lot of the guesswork out of building? And what if those kits not only flew great but also brought back some of the great designs from years gone by?
These are the ideas that Old School Model Works is founded on. We're offering a great series of kits that you can not only build and fly successfully, but personalize them to your own taste. Cover and finish your kit like you want, rather than being stuck with a "me-too" offering that looks exactly the same as the others at your local field.
If you want to go truly "Old School, check out our Tips page. These tips and tricks will save you time, money and give you the building skills you thought were out of reach.

Our online order processing is through Paypal. They accept most major credit cards for payment. Processing of mail or phone orders is handled here at our offices using Square's online processing system.
Where do you ship to?
Our online cart system is setup for the USA only. In some cases we can ship orders internationally, but you'll need to contact us for more information.
How long does it take to ship my order?
All kits are cut as the orders are received.
We are currently running a 10-14 business day backlog in our order queue - Thankfully, we're quite busy!
This varies depending on the time of year and availability of raw materials. If you have a question on the timing of your order, please don't hesitate to contact us. Also, if lead times are significantly greater, we will try to contact you and keep you up to date on the status of your order.
What method of shipment do you use?
We generally use UPS to ship our kits and larger orders, but there are times we might use the U.S. Postal Service. You will receive an email notification with tracking information once your order has shipped.
WE DO NOT SHIP TO PO BOXES - if you provide a PO box as part of your order, we will try to contaact you with the email address provided as part of your order. The order will be held until we hear from you with a proper street address we can ship.
What type of hardware is included in the kits
The amount of hardware will vary from kit to kit, but all kits include hinges, control horns, any screws to hold the hatches in place, as well as any bolts, dowels, and/or rubber bands needed to attach the wing(s).
Kits with landing gear will include the pre-bent gear, ready-to-assemble nose gear (if required), wheel collars w/set screws, as well as any gear straps and screws that are needed for that particular kit.
If the kit has struts, the struts, as well as the nuts, bolts, and straps needed to attach them are included.
If the model has a thermo-formed canopy or windshield, or it has clear windows, those are included. Windows will need to be cut from included sheet plastic using the templates on the plan sheets.
If the fuel/battery hatch is held in place with those, magnets are included.
What's not included are items like pushrods, fuel tanks, fuel tubing, and wheels. Those can be purchased at your local hobby shop, or one of the many reputable on-line dealers. We don't included these items because we have found builders are very loyal to a brand, or type of hardware - very rarely using something different. So regardless of what we would include, there's a very good chance that the builder would substitute alternate hardware. So, why buy the hardware twice?
How do we return merchandise for repair or refund?
Call for complete information before returning any products. Product(s) which are eligible for refund must be complete, packed using all original packing materials and properly packaged for shipping. Any product returned, which is not received in new, sellable condition, will be subject to repackaging and/or restocking fees. Returns for refund must be within 30 days of the original purchase (unless otherwise authorized by Old School Model Works).
